Landscape Visual Sensitivity Assessment of Historic Districts—A Case Study of Wudadao Historic District in Tianjin, China

Against the backdrop of urban stock renewal, as core area a city rich in culture, aesthetics, and tourism resources, assessment landscape visual sensitivity historic districts can provide an accurate, objective, intuitive decision-making basis for multi-purpose planning districts. The main purpose this study was to develop method based on geographic information system (GIS) order make index map district scale. To end, uses multi-criteria evaluation (MCE) method, selects visibility (VSv), number potential users (VSu), remarkableness (VSe) criteria, constructs comprehensive model landscape. most well-protected Wudadao Historic District Tianjin (Wudadao) selected area, its assessed. results are divided into four levels: areas high sensitivity, moderate low very sensitivity. Results indicate that after optimization improvement large-scale forest landscape, it is feasible evaluate small-scale districts; higher level, more important be protected, cautious should renewal users, so on. Further attention needs paid design improve quality.
